Choosing a Care Home

When you come to choose a care home, you'll need to be sure it offers the type of care you require. The majority of homes in the Winnie Care Group are residential and some also provide nursing care. Our homes are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection under various different categories, including Old Age and Alzheimer's/Dementia (Elderly). Most homes also provide more specialist care for the elderly mentally ill. Respite care is available in many of our homes and is a useful way of providing carers with a short break.

Each of our homes has its own individual style and 'personality' and, to help you feel even more comfortable with your surroundings, you can bring your own personal items to put in your room. You'll also find that each bedroom usually has its own television and telephone point. You can normally choose to keep your own GP and you can request a special diet. Some homes are even able to take your pets. Rooms are usually single occupancy and many are available with an en-suite WC. Homes are often located close to the local shops and near to public transport. Each home offers its own range of social activities and outings and visitors are always welcome.
